Jeddah humidity and stored furniture: what to do before you lock the unit
Jeddah is humid for most of the year, and humidity is what damages stored furniture: wood swells, mould grows on fabric and mattresses, and paper warps. A sealed unit keeps out dust, insects and rain, but moisture that goes in with the furniture stays with it.
So dry anything freshly washed before loading, never wrap wood straight in plastic, and leave a small gap between the furniture and the walls. For leather, fine wood and documents, an air-conditioned unit at 18–28 °C is the safer choice.
